Saverio Cinti is Full Professor of Human Anatomy and Director of the Center of Obesity at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona). He graduated from the University of Padua (1974) and completed specializations in Internal Medicine and Surgical Pathology. He has held visiting professorships at Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Copenhagen University. His research over four decades has fundamentally advanced the understanding of white and brown adipose tissue biology, their metabolic roles, and involvement in obesity and metabolic disease. He is a former President of the Italian Society of Obesity, and recipient of the Blaise Pascal Medal from the European Academy of Sciences (2008) and the Friedrich Wassermann Prize from EASO (2013).
