Ugo Faraguna is Associate Professor at the Department of Translational Research and New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery (Physiology Sector), University of Pisa. He earned his MD from the University of Pisa and conducted seven years of doctoral and postdoctoral research at the Center for Sleep and Consciousness, University of Wisconsin-Madison (Prof. Giulio Tononi’s lab). His research focuses on sleep-wake cycle regulation, high-definition electroencephalography (hdEEG), local sleep phenomena in development and aging, and low-cost actigraphic technologies for population monitoring. He founded the Sonnolab sleep research center (2012) and is co-founder of Sleepacta s.r.l., a University of Pisa spin-off dedicated to sleep diagnostics.
