Alberto Beretta is a physician-scientist and immunologist, founder and President of SoLongevity Foundation. He earned his MD from the University of Pavia (1978) and a PhD in basic immunology from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm (1985). He began his research career at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, contributing to early HIV research, and later served as Director of the HIV Immunobiology Unit at San Raffaele Hospital, Milan. Over the past decade, he has directed his focus to the biology of healthy aging, exploring genetic and epigenetic mechanisms that determine individual aging trajectories. In 2018 he founded SoLongevity to translate aging science into clinical practice, and in 2024 the SoLongevity Foundation to advance healthy aging research.
